Street photography:
“Everybody Street illuminates the lives and work of New York’s iconic street photographers and the incomparable city that has inspired them for decades. The documentary pays tribute to the spirit of street photography through a cinematic exploration of New York City, and captures the visceral rush, singular perseverance and at times immediate danger customary to these artists. Covering nine decades of street photography, “Everybody Street” explores the careers and influences of many notable photographers––a number of whom have never been documented, featuring: Bruce Davidson, Elliott Erwitt, Jill Freedman, Bruce Gilden, Joel Meyerowitz, Rebecca Lepkoff, Mary Ellen Mark, Jeff Mermelstein, Clayton Patterson, Ricky Powell, Jamel Shabazz, Martha Cooper, and Boogie, with historians Max Kozloff and Luc Sante."

My First Set Of Images.
My second set of images
WWW: All theses photos have come out in black & white and are all focused. You can clearly see what all the photos are which are mainly people. Most the images are unposed and I was able to react quickly to unfolding events. I have attempted a variety of compositions and camera angles, sometimes tilting the camera to create added drama. I have used leading lines in some images so that people are contrasted with the building.I have used a different range of camera shots such as close ups and mid shots.
Sunset boulevard ideas;
We focused on a picture called 'sunset boulevard' by Garry Winagrand. We discussed what was in the photo and what we could see and what we thought. There is a lot of things going on in this photo such as in the dark corner of the photo there is a man in a wheelchair who no one is focusing in but there is 3 girls who are walking in the middle on the hollywood walk of fame who most people are focusing on.I noticed that the 3 girls have the same hairstyle

Recently we have been taking photos in the style of Bruce Gilden which is to take them very close to peoples faces and quickly.
WWW: All the photos have come out clear, i like how most of the camera angles are different. Some are low angle and some are high angles but other are at a slanted angle. They have come out in the style of Bruce Gilden which is what was meant to happen. You can clearly see what all the photos are which are mainly people. Most the images are unposed and I was able to react quickly to unfolding events.
EBI: I would have preferred the photos to come out in black&white just like bruce gildens photos. Some of the photos are completely still and boring and people are covering their faces it would have been better if you could see their facial expression.

My task was to take photos of something we repeatedly see in the streets, i started this task by capturing images of front doors and front gardens but walking through surrey keys i noticed the paintings on almost every wall of this flower and decided to start capturing images of this instead. www is that all the images are very close up of the painting so it is easier to understand what the image is and the angle of the camera is straight on every photo. It would of been even better if i could edit the photos in the style of Garry Winogrand, which is to take all of the photos in the effect of black and white to show the contrast. |
FInal project.
At the moment i am doing my exam and i am thinking of ideas. I have been inspired by gillian wearings photos and to take them myself, for example i will get card and get people to write down something but different to what she wrote.
1. Favourite song lyrics.
2.Favourtie family members.
3. Draw their favourite things.
4.Draw/hold something they hate
5.write down something you like and hate about yourself.
6. write down what you hate
For this piece i will get other students in my class to do it.
i decided to choose the idea 'favourite song lyrics' for my final piece and here is my final outcome.
